Our trip to Boise

We are back from a trip to Boise. We were very sad to leave. We miss our family and the sunshine. Carter had a wonderful time. We started the trip at Grandma and Grandpa Long's. He played in their fountain and experienced sprinklers for the first time. He wasn't too much of a fan. He got to go to the zoo with Granny Vargas. At Nana and Papa Goldsmith's he spent most of the time outside. When he wasn't outside he was standing at the door rubbing his belly (his version of sign language for "please). He learned a lot of new words on this trip: barbecue, I'm goin' get you, poky and Justice (my parents dog).

Please, please can I go out?

Dad made us leave a mullet for the picture. Just a little too much hick.

New Tricks

Carter has a few new tricks. He has decided that it is fun to put the food he dislikes on his head. He thinks it is very cleaver. We try hard to keep a straight face so as not to encourage this behavior. It is pretty hard when his gives us that cute little "Look at me, I am pretty smart" smile.

He also is getting very proficient at peek-a-boo. It is super cute. Enjoy the video below.

Sunday at the Beach

On Sunday we got to see the sun for an extended amount of time. It has been awhile. To celebrate we went down to the Edmonds beach to play in the sand and look at the water. This was Carter's first interactive experience with sand. He enjoyed several large bites before we could stop him. Despite the fact that we did not allow him to continue sampling the sand, he had a fun time. He loved to watch the little waves and hear the big boats go bye.

What we do...well, mostly just what the kids do
